George Armour Ewart, Architect was established in 1996 by George Ewart who, at that time, had fifteen years experience in the field of architecture. Since then the firm has grown to a staff of twelve, with a total of one hundred and nine years of combined experience. In addition, we are also members in good standing of the American Institute of Architects, East Tennessee Chapter. Unlike many architectural firms, we do not choose to specialize in any one project type, but instead utilize our diverse and experienced staff to pursue a wide range of projects, each offering their own special challenges and rewards. To date, we have completed numerous works in the fields of healthcare, educational, religious, residential, commercial and industrial architecture, as well as many other unique fields.

All projects have many criteria and goals that must be met – functional, technical, financial, aesthetic – and it is the responsibility of your architect to guide you through the process, from schematic design through final occupancy of the building. It is our core belief that only by establishing a strong and open working relationship with the client that it is possible to achieve a practical, well-built, economical, and attractive building. Throughout the design and construction process, George Armour Ewart, Architect is constantly in contact with the client and builder to minimize unwelcome surprises and ensure that the goals and expectations of the client are met – and hopefully exceeded! By doing this, we help to create buildings in which the client, architect and builder can all take pride.

George Armour Ewart, Architect utilizes the latest in computer technologies necessary for the successful execution of today's projects, running the industry standard in computer-aided drafting and design, AutoCAD, to accurately and efficiently generate working drawings. We maintain our web page and e-mail account over a DSL line to better facilitate quick and easy communications among the client, consultants, builder, and architect, thereby expediting your project. We use QuickBooks Pro to track costs and manage projects in-house, thus achieving better control over budgetary matters. All projects at the firm, no matter the size or cost, are covered with one-million dollars of professional liability and error & omissions insurance: to date, we have never had a claim against the firm. We strive to work with the most knowledgeable and responsive structural, mechanical, and electrical consultants for each project, and will gladly work with other consultants required or suggested by the client.
