Munzir Shaikhoun

Architectural Associate

Munzir is a seasoned designer, with over a decade of experience in the architecture and design industry. Since completing his Master of Architecture in Sustainable Design from the University of Tennessee in 2023, his focus area has been climate-sensitive design. He enjoys harnessing the mind-hand connection as he sketches in pursuit of architecture that sits well in its ecological context. Munzir has been the recipient of multiple student design awards, including the Robert B Church III Graduate Award for his master’s of Architecture thesis.

Prior to joining George Ewart Architect, Munzir designed, led, and coordinated dozens of projects located in Dubai, Riyadh, Jeddah, among several other locations in the Middle East and North Africa region. Including serving as an on-site designer at the recently completed Marriott 4-star Hotel Project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Munzir enjoys playing soccer, pencil sketching, painting, pottery and reading Arabic poetry. He loves spending time in the outdoors with his friends and family. He is also a huge Liverpool FC fan.
